The National Sun Yat-Sen University was founded in Kaohsiung in 1980. It quickly became the fastest growing university in Taiwan and Asia. The University is set in a beautiful location, right next to the ocean where you can do water sports like surfing. It is also near the mountain ‘Mount Chai‘ where Macaques monkeys live. Apparently, it is not surprising if you come across one of these monkey’s on campus.
The University offers courses to learn Mandarin Chinese and also offer courses taught in English. The National Sun Yat-Sen University is well known and considered prestigious.
How to get there:
Metro / Underground
- Take the Orange line to Sizihwan (O1) and leave via exit 1
- Follow the signs to the Gushan Ferry Port (5 minutes walk)
- Cross the bridge by the ferry station and follow the sea around to the University (10 minute walk)
