
Oyster Omelet is a very popular and famous food in Kaohsiung. This dish consists of oysters, eggs and potato starch. It may be topped with a sweet chili sauce or a sweet oyster/hoisin type sauce. If you don’t want the sauce you can say “bu yao jiang” which means “don’t want sauce”. It is an excellent quick and tasty Taiwanese snack. They are normally cooked on a large round grill. You can normally find it sold in night markets. If you go to Liouhe Night Market you can expect to pay NT$50 for one omelet.
